Being an editor of the UK Auctionline Newsletter I receive so many e-mails from subscribers. Frequently the question most of them ask is, “Please tell me a quick and easy way to generate profits on eBay.” Perhaps the answer to this specific question in reality revolves around how you will determine the term easy.

It’s my perception that there’s simply no simpler way to make money over the internet than by selling stuff using eBay. Exactly what could be easier, a simple 5 step process.

1. Have something to offer.

2. Photograph it, and also craft a compelling detailed description.

3. Publish your listing to eBay auction.

4. Collect your money from buyer.

5. Ship the sold item to your buyer.

What could be simpler than that?

But I think what exactly many people are actually wanting to know is how one’s easily get hold of goods to trade. Many reasons exist for why someone’s product does not get any worthwhile bids. Poor title, brief or poor description, completely wrong category, very poor spelling etc. You could find these through exploring around the auction site, but I would advise a simpler approach.

Find the categories that you might be interested in and look down the search feature for items finishing within the following hour. Here is where you may find the good deals that have failed to pull in any kind of bids for the points we have just mentioned.

3. Unsocial hours

In any guide concerning eBay selling you can get tips on when is the best hours for online auctions to complete. Essentially the most proposed times for most products are Sunday afternoon and evenings or Wednesday evenings. Quite a few experts suggest that for business related items, Monday or Tuesday during office hours are the best. Should you accept that there are occassions when you’re going to get increased bids for your items, there must also be times when your auction ends at not so well in price, or not as you anticipated. I’d personally consider if you have an auction that will complete in between say 4 am to 7 am on a Monday morning you won’t get too many people hanging out to place last minute bids to push the price further up. Again buy and list with your auction set to complete at a much more sociable moment and you can easily earn a 20% or even more profit for little or no work.

4. Buy Collectible

One of the easiest ways to generate profits on eBay is to cash in on other peoples laziness. If someone has, for example, a set of 10 Ferrari diecast model collectibles, it’s a undeniable fact that whenever they put all 10 in a single auction as a collection they may get much less compared to if they had posted each item individually. Yet it’s unbelievable the number of sellers cannot be bothered to do this. I have recently acquired this type of collection and actually made more from one of the items as compared to what I had paid for the entire collection.

5. Other online auction site.

Above 95% of all internet auction sales are on eBay. They have got the largest number of registered consumers and also the products posted for sale. Because of this goods offered for sale on eBay get the best prices. So why not look around a few of the less popular internet auction sites, as in many cases goods listed on those sites is not going to attract this type of good prices as could be achieved on eBay. Next all you need to do is to buy from them and relist on eBay.
